At Alphamed Scotland, we specialise in providing on-site medical services to support the safe delivery of events across Scotland, from small gatherings through to large-scale public and sporting events.
Pre-event planning and medical risk assessment
Pre-event medical planning and risk assessment are a crucial part of determining the right level of medical cover. We review event documentation, site layouts, schedules and audience profiles to understand the risks involved and ensure staffing and resources align with recognised guidance, including the Purple and Green Guides. This enables organisers to make informed decisions and demonstrate that duty of care has been properly considered.
For events in unfamiliar or more challenging locations, our team visits the site in advance to identify potential risks and plan delivery properly. We review access routes, nearby hospitals and emergency facilities, as well as practical considerations such as parking, accessibility and public safety.
Medical staffing is tailored to each event and informed by medical planning and risk assessment. We staff events using paid clinical teams with clear minimum experience requirements, supported by recruitment and compliance checks that keep standards consistent. Staffing and deployment decisions align with the safe staffing principles set out in the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019, ensuring the right people, in the right place, with the right skills, at the right time.
